NextBet Betting Rules - Racing

1.         GENERAL

1.1.      Any Capitalised terms not otherwise defined within these Betting Rules – Racing adopt the defined terms presented in the Betting Rules - General & Product (link).

These Betting Rules apply to your use of all NextBet websites, mobile applications and telephone services (Services) including:

1.2.      Where there are eight (8) or more runners in a race, a Place dividend shall be paid on first, second and third places.

1.3.      1 Where there are less than five (5) runners in a race, all bets shall be on a 'Win Only' basis. If a late scratching of a runner or runners reduces the field below five (5) runners, all fixed odds place bets will be paid out with deductions applied.

1.4.      If a runner is scratched, all bets placed, after the declaration of the final field, will be refunded on that runner (provided the bet wasn't placed prior to the barrier draw on an 'All-In' basis.). All other runners will be subject to a deduction, applicable to the face value of winning bets where the bet was placed at a fixed price, for either: Win, Each Way, or Place Only (refer Section 8 - Schedule of Deductions)

1.5.      We may cancel bets where You have manipulated the pool, subject to adjudication by the relevant state totalisator operator(s) or Northern Territory Racing Commission.

1.6.    We may place a limit on the payout (final odds) where there is reasonable suspicion of pool manipulation having occurred (e.g. Payout no greater than 50% higher than the fixed price).

1.7 .    If the national tote goes down either online or via the telephone and the pools are distorted, then We reserve the right to omit these dividends when paying out. And use the fixed odds price where the dividend exceeded by 50%.

1.8.    If a meeting is abandoned or postponed to another date, single bets are void and bets will be refunded. Affected MultiBets will be recalculated excluding that leg.

1.9.    In relation to Fixed Odds racing events where betting is opened prior to the declaration of the final field, if the event is postponed and not held within seven (7) days or less of the day on which the event was originally scheduled to commence, the event shall be treated as abandoned and all investments on runners that remain acceptors at the expiry of the seven (7) days will be refunded.

1.10.    Regardless of whether a 'Futures event (‘All-In’ betting)' has been postponed or transferred from the original date, all bets stand until the completion of the event.


1.11.    We reserve the right to restrict the maximum dividend paid out for tote Win and tote Place bets to $201.

1.12.  We reserve the right to restrict the return the national tote derivative bet to the size of the national tote pool.

1.1.  On any national Tote Market, where a individual tote dividend is more than 50% higher than the fixed price, We reserve the right at Our sole discretion, to pay the dividend on average of our fixed odds and national tote.

1.14.    Depending on the status of race meetings, differing products will be available daily as shown on Our Website and Our App.

2.         RACING PRODUCTS

2.1     Win & Place Tote + 5% - We will pay a dividend 5% higher than national tote (on profit portion of dividend, not stake).

2.2     Win & Place Tote + 10% - We will pay a dividend 10% higher than national tote (on profit portion of dividend, not stake).

2.3     Exotics - All Racing exotics (Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta, First Four and Quadrella) are paid at the dividend declared by national tote.

2.4       Best Fluctuation - This product is the Best Price declared by the official Bookmakers Fluctuations.

2.5       Starting Price (SP) - Is the official final bookmaker's price when the race jumps.

2.6     Fixed Odds - Fixed Win & Place odds are available on Our website and App and once confirmed are not subject to fluctuation (apart from deductions where appropriate). For each way fixed odds bets the Place is paid at the current fixed odds Place price when selected.

3.         Protest Payout

3.1.      Protest Payout applies to every Australian thoroughbred and harness race, subject to the following conditions:

3.1.1.   applies to Win bets and the Win portion of Each-Way bets only;
3.1.2.   does not:

3.1.2.1.            include Multibets or exotic bets;
3.1.2.2.            apply to phone bets or Bonus Bets;
3.1.2.3.            apply to minor protests (e.g. 2nd vs 3rd);
3.1.2.4.            apply to non-final field markets, known as “Futures markets”.

3.2.      Maximum payout $2,000 per customer per race.
3.3.      The payment of the Protest Payout is at Our sole discretion.
3.4.      We reserve the right at Our sole discretion to exclude certain members from participating in Protest Payout.

4.         Jockey Challenge

4.1.      Jockey Challenge bets are available on selected meetings on a 'Win Only' basis.
4.2.      The winning jockey is the rider who accrues the most points based on the 3-2-1 system where the Jockeys receives 3 points for a winning ride, 2 points for finishing second and 1 point for finishing third. In the event of a tie, Dead-Heat rules apply. This is regardless of the number of outright winners ridden by the listed jockeys.

4.3.      The "Any Other Individual Jockey" option shall be defined as the points earned by any one individual jockey riding at that meeting outside of the jockeys already nominated in the list of betting options for that meeting.

4.4.      If a race meeting is not completed as originally programmed all declared betting event bets shall be deemed void and moneys are to be refunded, except when determined that a jockey has an unassailable lead, in which case all declared betting event bets stand.

4.5.      In the case of Jockey Challenge betting on a racing carnival should any of the programmed carnival race meetings not be completed in their entirety, all declared betting event bets shall be deemed void and moneys are to be refunded, except when it is determined that a jockey has an unassailable lead, in which case all declared betting event bets stand.

5.         Racing Exotics (Not available via telephone)

5.1.    All Racing Exotics are paid on winning combinations at the dividends declared by the national tote.

5.2.    Notwithstanding maximum win limits detailed in section , We reserve the right to limit total payout to any individual(s) on any bet type. If the total payout on any bet type exceeds the national tote pool, We reserve the right to limit the total payout to clients to the amount of the national tote pool on that particular bet type.

5.3.    In the event of a Dead Heat for any of the place getters, there will be as many dividends as there are correct order combinations as declared by the national tote.

6.         Flexi Bets

6.1.      In the case of a Flexi Bet, the minimum amount that may be invested in a single bet is the greater of:

6.1.1.   1 cent for each combination covered by the bet; and
6.1.2.   $1.00 or such other amount as We may determine from time to time.

6.2.      Flexi Bets are available on Thoroughbred and Harness Quinella, Trifecta, Exacta and First Four wagers.
6.3.      The amount invested on each combination covered by a Flexi Bet is determined by the total stake amount of the Flexi Bet divided by the number of combinations.
6.4.      When taking Flexi Bets on Racing Exotics the percentage is calculated by the total stake divided by the number of combinations (permutations). When scratchings occur, the number of invalid combinations (combinations which include scratched runners) multiplied by the percentage for each calculation is refunded. Where the bet has a winning combination, that combination is paid out at the initial percentage multiplied by the declared dividend, as normal.
 

7.         RACING GLOSSARY

 
Racing Exotics are Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta, First Four, Quadrella/Quaddie bet types.

7.1.      Exacta
An Exacta is when two runners are selected to place first and second in the correct order. If a selected runner is declared a 'non-runner' or scratched after the wager is confirmed, wagers will be refunded on every combination which includes the scratched runner and the combination stands and the wager re-calculated without the scratched runner.

7.2.      First Four
A First Four is when four runners are selected to place first, second, third and fourth in the correct order. If a selected runner is declared a 'non-runner' or scratched after the wager is confirmed, wagers will be refunded on every combination which includes the scratched runner and the combination stands and the wager re-calculated without the scratched runner.

7.3.      Quadrella
A Quadrella is when the winners are selected in four consecutive races listed on the Quaddie Race card. If a selected runner is declared a 'non-runner' or scratched after the wager is confirmed, wagers will be transferred to the substitute favourite as declared by the national tote.

7.4.      Quinella
A Quinella is when two runners are selected to place first and second in any order. If a selected runner is declared a 'non-runner' or scratched after the wager is confirmed, wagers will be refunded on every combination which includes the scratched runner and the combination stands and the wager re-calculated without the scratched runner.

7.5.      Trifecta
A Trifecta is when three runners are selected to place first, second and third in the correct order. If a selected runner is declared a 'non-runner' or scratched after the wager is confirmed, wagers will be refunded on every combination which includes the scratched runner and the combination stands and the wager re-calculated without the scratched runner.
